Régine Chassagne is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist musician and singer, and a founding member of the band Arcade Fire. She is married to co-founder Win Butler.
Life and career
Régine Chassagne is a Haitian-Canadian musician born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and grew up in St-Lambert, a suburb south of Montreal. Her parents emigrated from Haiti during the dictatorship of François Duvalier, which is alluded to in the Arcade Fire song "Haiti", in which she sings, Mes cousins jamais nés hantent les nuits de Duvalier ("My unborn cousins haunt Duvalier's nights").
Chassagne earned a B.A. in communication studies at Concordia University in 1998, and went on to study jazz voice briefly at McGill University. She was singing jazz at an art opening at Concordia in 2000 when Butler met her and persuaded her to join his band; after line-up changes, only the two of them were left. They married in 2003. She plays many instruments on stage, including the accordion, drums, xylophone, hurdy-gurdy, keyboards and organ.Haitian Women |

Side beauty, Sarodj Bertin, 24, 1.75 m, brown eyes, brown hair, enjoys an irreproachable physique. Intelligence side she has nothing to envy anyone, in the footsteps of her mother, Sarodj should become a lawyer in the Dominican Republic where she studied international business law (commercial law, business, banking and real estate) is currently preparing an Master in international affairs. Polyglot, she speaks fluent English, Spanish, French and Creole while pursuing studies in Italian language and Mandarin.
"This will be my great honor to accept this award, that I dedicate to all my fellow Haitians and Latin Americans in general," said Bertin Sarodj "We are currently focusing on the reconstruction of Haiti, and I chair a foundation which aims to provide 3000 homes for an equal number of families in need". The Latins Awards 2010 will devote a special meeting where Sarodj will have the opportunity to present the culture and needs of his country.
"We all agree that Haiti deserves more attention from the international community", said Felix Jerez, the Dominican executive producer of Latins Awards 2010. "When we looked for the woman of the year, we all turned to Haiti, and watching the Miss Universe contest, we got the answer we were looking [...] we are proud to recognize the efforts and the passion of a young woman who, despite his youth traveling the world [accompanied by the Clinton former president] to seek help for his beloved nation"
The award ceremony will be held on November 5th, 2010 at Symphony Space / Peter Jay Sharp Theater in New York. The event will air on Telemundo and network radio and television in Latin America.

is very involved in her community and works diligently at promoting a
positive image for women everywhere especially Haitian professional
women. She uses her spare time to help others and most importantly to
bring awareness to causes that help improve the image of her native
country of Haiti.
Stephane is a great communicator and prides herself at her ability to
bring people together and to interact with people at every level with
her genuine self and deep compassion.
Stephane comes from a generation of great Humanitarians and public
servants. Her Grandmother Madeleine Perez Bauduy who raised her, was
the Mayor of Jacmel, the second largest city in Haiti, for almost 40
years. Stephane was taught to respect everyone’s decisions and
especially their religion from an early age and grew up to be a very
outspoken young lady and stark advocate of free speech and freedom of
expression. Above all she watched her Grand-Mother serve her community
tirelessly and has vowed to continue her legacy.
